TRAINING
PROCESS

The Trial Day

Before you commit to our training program, we invite you to join us for a trial day. This day will give you a taste of what paragliding entails and allow you to decide if it's the right fit for you. During the trial day, you will receive basic instruction on the equipment, safety protocols, and the principles of flight. You will also have the opportunity to take a short flight under the guidance of our experienced instructors.

Basic Training on the Training Hill

Once you have completed the trial day and decided to pursue paragliding, the next step is to undergo basic training on the training hill. This is where you will learn the fundamental skills needed for paragliding, such as launching, controlling the wing, and landing safely. The training hill provides a controlled environment with gentle slopes, allowing you to practice these skills under the guidance and supervision of our instructors.

High-Altitude Flights

After mastering the basics on the training hill, it's time to take your skills to new heights – quite literally. In the high-altitude flights phase of the training process, you will graduate from flying on the training hill to flying from the mountain itself. This transition will introduce you to the unique challenges and exhilaration of flying in a more natural environment. With each high-altitude flight, you will gain confidence and further refine your techniques.

Theory Test and Practice Test

Becoming a licensed pilot requires a solid understanding of the theoretical aspects of paragliding. As part of our training process, you will need to pass a theory test that covers topics such as meteorology, aerodynamics, and aviation regulations. Once you have successfully passed the theory test, you can proceed to the practice test. This test evaluates your practical skills and ensures that you are competent in all aspects of paragliding. Upon passing the practice test, you will be granted the freedom to fly solo and explore the skies on your own.

The APPI Teaching Model

At our school, we adhere to the APPI teaching model, which is widely regarded as one of the most developed models in the world. The APPI model ensures that you receive comprehensive and standardized training, enabling you to acquire the skills necessary to become a proficient pilot. Additionally, our school has streamlined the process of validating your APPI 3 license in the Colombian system (Fedeaereos).

Timeframe and Support

The duration of the training program may vary depending on individual progress and circumstances. However, on average, you can expect the training process to last approximately 25 days. At our school, we understand that every student is unique and may require different amounts of time to master the necessary skills. Rest assured, our instructors are committed to supporting you every step of the way, providing guidance and assistance to ensure your success.
